13 experts from the construction industry make up this year’s jury for the Concrete Components Innovation Award.
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Harald Garrecht: He is Head of the Institute for Materials in Construction (IWB) at the University of Stuttgart and Director of the Materials Testing Institute at the University of Stuttgart (MPA University of Stuttgart, Otto Graf Institute). Garrecht is chairing the jury this year.
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Sandra Gelbrich: She has been Head of the Lightweight Construction Research Unit at the Institute of Lightweight Structures at Chemnitz University of Technology since 2009. In 2011, she founded the Steinbeis Innovation Center FiberCrete as a transfer point for building material developments up to practical maturity. Her research focuses on fiber and textile-reinforced composites, lightweight materials and structural engineering in the construction industry.
- Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. Elisabeth Hierlein: She has been working for the Fachvereinigung Deutscher Betonfertigteilbau e.V. (FDB) since 2006, since July 2007 as Managing Director. Her specialist work focuses on structural precast construction, façades, architectural concrete, building physics and sustainable building with concrete.
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrea Kustermann: She is a civil engineer and Professor of Construction Chemistry, Building Materials and Construction in Existing Contexts. Her main field of research is concrete technology, especially recycled concrete, low-CO2 binders, MICP and alternative reinforcements.
- Dr.-Ing. Jennifer C. Scheydt: Dr. Scheydt has been working for the BMI Group, one of the largest manufacturers of concrete roof tiles, since May 2022. There she is responsible for the “Concrete & Surface Technology” division and thus for research and development as well as concrete technology support for the Dachstein division worldwide.
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Danièle Waldmann-Diederich: She is currently a professor and head of the Institute for Solid Construction at TU Darmstadt and conducts research in the field of sustainable solid construction. A holistic view of sustainable construction and the implementation of a circular economy are at the heart of their activities.
- Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Braun: Managing Director of Doppelwand Bayern GbR
- Dipl.-Ing. Christian Drössler: He studied civil engineering at RWTH Aachen University and Imperial College London from 1988 to 1995, specializing in structural engineering. Drössler has been a member of the management board of Drössler Betonfertigteile GmbH since 2022.
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dominik Kueres: He teaches and researches at the Munich University of Applied Sciences in the department of “Digital Structural Design and Materials in Solid Construction”, research focuses include the design and reinforcement of existing reinforced and prestressed concrete structures as well as the non-linear numerical mapping of normal concrete and ultra high-strength concrete. He has been the head of the BetonTage technical program since this year.
- Dipl.-Ing. Hans-Georg Müller: Branch Manager BERDING BETON GmbH, DW Nievenheim
- Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Rekers: He is the managing partner of Rekers Betonwerk GmbH & Co KG. He is also Chairman of BauZert, Bund Güteschutz and the Research Association of the German Concrete and Precast Industry.
- Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Silvio Schade: He trained as a reinforced concrete constructor (BMK Dresden/1984) and studied structural engineering at the College of Civil Engineering (Cottbus/1992). Schade has worked as an editor at BFT International since 2013 (since 2019 as editor-in-chief) at Bauverlag, Gütersloh.
