“Rethinking sustainability” is the mission of the 69th BetonTage. The leading congress of the concrete and precast concrete industry will take place from 11-13 March 2025 at the Congress Centrum Ulm, featuring a new program structure and focusing on the ecological and digital transformation of the construction industry. What can drive the paradigm shift forward? What will the building of the future look like? What leading role will prefabrication play? All presentations will deal with these questions and present solutions. Selected panels will again be translated into English. The industry event will once again be accompanied by an extensive exhibition with companies and start-ups from the supplier, machine and software industries.
New program structure
The structure of the program has been revised for the upcoming BetonTage. The congress will start on March 11, 2025 with the 1st German Infrastructure Day. The all-day event will be organized together with the Federal Association of Concrete Sewer Systems. The lectures will present future-oriented sustainable solutions for sewer and manhole systems as well as decentralized rainwater management and will focus on civil engineering planning offices and the public sector as tendering bodies as new target groups.
At the same time, the panel “Everything that is LEGAL” will take place from 1 p.m. for manufacturers of precast concrete parts and concrete products. Concrete legal and economic assistance for day-to-day operations in increasingly difficult times will be on the agenda.
The official opening of the congress and exhibition will take place at 5 pm. The keynote speech after the welcoming addresses will be given by Boris Palmer, Lord Mayor of the university city of Tübingen, who is known for his provocative approach. His contribution “Against the bureaucracy of building” shows how a jumble of regulations in Germany delays or even prevents many important municipal projects. According to the former Green politician, the level of sensible bureaucracy in Germany has long since been exceeded. He calls for more freedom of action in local politics and proposes approaches to reduce bureaucracy in construction.
The subsequent FAIRbinden industry get-together at the end of the first day of the congress offers the opportunity to network in a relaxed atmosphere. Snacks, drinks and musical accompaniment within the exhibition provide the perfect setting. There will also be plenty of time for personal discussions on Wednesday evening with the large Maritim buffet.
Extensive specialist program – Guest country Brazil
The future of construction belongs to prefabrication. Contributions on the manufacture and construction with concrete components therefore run like a red thread through the program of the 69th BetonTage. This year, participants will gain insights into the up-and-coming guest country Brazil. Iria Doniak, the current fib President, is herself the owner of a precast concrete plant. Despite the fundamental reduction to the two main days Wednesday and Thursday for the specialist program, the program diversity has been fully maintained, with parallel sessions also taking place in the mornings. They were again planned in cooperation with the trade organizations and provide important practical impulses.
The contributions range from structural precast construction to lightweight construction, serial and modular construction, additive manufacturing and the re-use of concrete components. Selected architectural solutions made of lightweight concrete and cast stone will also demonstrate the potential of precast concrete construction in residential and commercial buildings. The panel “Urban design of living spaces” addresses the manufacturers of concrete blocks. Presentations and demonstrations as part of the practical workshop will address questions from the day-to-day operations of production managers in the factory.
Science plays a key role in achieving climate targets in the construction sector. The panel “Practical research for concrete” will showcase pioneering developments in the field of concrete technology. Modern concretes and resource-saving cements play just as much a role as the use of multifunctional innovative concrete components.
“Rethinking sustainability also means looking for innovative solutions together with everyone involved in construction,” says event organizer Dr. Ulrich Lotz. On March 13, 2025, the 6th “Future Day Construction Industry” will therefore be held in cooperation with the construction industry. In addition to precast concrete manufacturers, the target group includes managers from construction companies, architecture and engineering firms.
Marketplace for industry partners
Numerous companies from the supplier, machine and software industries as well as start-ups will once again be presenting themselves at the 69th BetonTage in the exhibition accompanying the congress. In addition, selected companies will provide information about their products and new developments in the “Innovation Forum”. Dyckerhoff GmbH will once again be the main sponsor, with Pemat Mischtechnik, Deutsche Bauchemie and Syspro on board as further prominent partners.
